Before 3D printing, Patient Specific Implants (PSI) were manufactured traditionally through casting and forging. Now, we see implants being printed using titanium or stainless steel. There are proven benefits using PSI manufactured through Additive Manufacturing like significantly lower blood loss, decreased hospital stay, and from the demand side, the ability to print more efficiently by reducing the lead time. The FormUp 350 is built for serial production for PSI’s from the ground up and can create complex geometries from fine detailed lattice that promotes osteointegration.
