DISCOVERY

New adopters of the technology are enamored with the promise of additive manufacturing soon to realize that they don’t know where to begin or how to apply it to their business. Our team helps new adopters understand the potential of additive manufacturing and how it can be applied to their business, whether they want to internalize AM or industrialize AM with one of our manufacturing partners.

  • Our team first provides guidance on part identification to highlight where additives are a strong fit and can provide potential benefits.
  • Then we support the customer to understand design rules associated with the manufacturing process to be applied to future applications.
  • Finally, we assess for economic feasibility of the parts identified as a first step towards building out a full business model.
develop

DEVELOPMENT

Once target applications have been identified, we work closely with our customers to develop and refine the application and business case using an iterative process and Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM).

  • Our team co-develops the application with our customers to optimize the part design for the manufacturing process, Design for Additive Manufacturing or DfAM, working closely with our customers to maintain design intent of the end use part.
  • This iterative process allows for proof of concept and technical feasibility of our customers application providing prototypes for testing and validation.
  • Finally, we further develop the business case to include the new changes to the model and applying our customer’s inputs and cost structure validated for their business.

QUALIFICATION

With the application fully developed and tested it is time to lock down and qualify the process. During this stage, we focus on qualifying the additive manufacturing process to meet industry-specific standards and regulations. Whether you’re making medical parts in an ISO13485 environment or flight worthy hardware under AS9100 (EN9100) AddUp has the expertise to support you though the qualifications for your industry.

Medical IQ/OQ/PQ

  • Our team has the infrastructure, protocols and expertise to guide you through the process associated with the qualification of medical application. We also understand and support our customers navigate any regulatory challenges.

Aerospace AMS7003

  • Our process engineers understand the key process variables associated with the technology and our machine. We support our customers through the development of the Process Control Document for implementation into your quality system.

General Industry

  • Our history of mold making with AM allows us to understand that not every additive part needs to worthy of flight or implantable. With our deep understanding of the process, we can tailor the process to meet the quality requirements for you industry.

SCALE

Now you’re ready to ramp to full scale production. Our company was built on the pedigree of our parent companies in Michelin, making a million tire sipes every year, and Fives, 200+ years of expertise in machine tool building for serial industrial applications. We can guide you to designing your AM workshop by combining the highest safety standards for your employees with optimized production flows from powder storage to post-processing.

Furthermore, AddUp has the experience of building fully automated AM workshops. We have worked with customers to optimize their production lines using automation and we are ready to do the same for you.

  • Our machines are designed to meet an OEE level demanded for serial production.
  • Facilitation support to go from one machine to many, validating any machine to machine variation.
  • Support to create tailored automated solutions
  • Monitoring solutions to track the process ensuring each machine, each build, each part meet your quality requirements and notifications of when they are not.

WHY ADDUP

AddUp is an expert of two metal AM technologies built off more than 200 years of industrial experience. When you choose AddUp, you’ll experience best in class safety on a repeatable, reliable platform. AddUp machines offer a host of technological advantages working in synergy to produce the very best products – without compromising quality or productivity.

Proud Heritage

AddUp combines Michelin’s expertise in industrial part manufacturing with Fives expertise in industrial machine design. We understand the world of manufacturing because we were born from it.

Proven Track Record

Our machines are repeatable and reliable. Every day parts are produced on AddUp machines. You can find them on satellites, aircrafts, trains, automobiles and even in the human body.

Better Surface Finish

Thanks to our roller recoater technology, you achieve a smoother surface finish with fine features and less supports, reducing your need for post-processing.

Open Parameter Machines

Some competitors keep the workings of their machines secret, but we don’t. Do more with our open platform where you can easily twist and turn the knobs as you see fit.

Safer Powder Handling

Our Autonomous Power Module (APM) takes care of the full powder management, limiting exposure to powder and making our machines safer for operators.

Quality Assurance Software

Our comprehensive suite of AM software and most advanced technologies offer traceability to provide you increased confidence in part quality.

“The AddUp team has proven to live within their proclaimed values… delivering a beneficial experience, being a trusted partner, and encouraging innovation.
