AddUp was challenged to create a solution for Ford’s Impeller Wheel with the goal of decreasing production time and cost while improving performance when compared to traditional manufacturing. By using additive manufacturing, AddUp was able to prove PBF as a viable option for volume production in the automotive industry. By printing with Inconel 718, we were able to create a geometrically accurate, inertially balanced product that stands up to the rigorous testing traditionally made parts are put through.
