Our Vision

Industry is at a turning point. Manufacturers need to identify innovative ways to produce. They are looking for solutions that are more efficient, smarter, and faster to meet market demands.

Digital manufacturing is an answer to this challenge. It connects systems and processes across all areas of production to create an integrated approach. It offers extensive data to help optimize the manufacturing process. It also shortens the supply chain, reducing inventory and lead times while still fulfilling increasing demands. Additive Manufacturing is a key element of digital technology being utilized by manufacturers today. But they are looking for a reliable partner to guide them along their journey and help them achieve serial mass production. A partner who understands their needs for eco-responsibility and low environmental impact. A guide who, beyond machines, provides a new vision of manufacturing for the future. AddUp is that guide.

AddUp is built to do serial production in a digital manufacturing environment and to do it well. We are rooted in industry and focused on the future. Reliable, repeatable, industrial. We combine our founding partners’ expertise to create a transformative technology, built for the future. AddUp and our machines are providing innovative solutions to solve manufacturers toughest challenges. With AddUp, manufacturing moves forward.

Think Smart. Manufacture Different.

Proud Heritage

We were built upon the pedigree of industry pioneers Michelin and Fives. With more than 20 years of AM experience, we know how to use it, qualify it, and scale it–making it a reliable and repeatable solution for your business.

Michelin, the expert in industrial part manufacturing.

The Michelin group was one of the first companies to deploy additive manufacturing to produce serial parts. The world leader in tires uses laser powder bed fusion technology (PBF) to produce parts for tire molds. This technology allows the company to both reduce product costs and make significant advances in product performance. Today, Michelin produces more than one million mold parts per year with this technology.

Michelin was also the world’s first company to have fully automated additive manufacturing workshops. Whatever the volume of parts to be manufactured, regardless of your level of mastery of the technology, the AddUp team is at your disposal to meet your needs and guide you on your additive manufacturing journey.

Fives, the expert in industrial machine design.

The Fives Group has more than two centuries of experience in the design and manufacturing of machines and turnkey production plants for companies in all industrial sectors. Dating back to 1812, Fives is renowned for landmark achievements such as the first steam locomotives to the Alexandre III Bridge in Paris, the metal framework of the Orsay train station in Paris, and the elevators for the Eiffel Tower.

In developing projects worldwide, Fives teams bring technological expertise ranging from design and commissioning to supply and installation. As a pioneer of decarbonization and digitalization, Fives is always one innovation ahead due to its ability to anticipate customer needs.

OUR STORY

AddUp was born in 2015 from the desire of two major French industrial groups, Michelin and Fives, to create a leader in metal additive manufacturing. We combine Michelin’s experience developing the Laser Powder Bed Fusion technology (PBF) and perfecting it for large-scale industrial production with Fives’ expertise in the design, manufacture, and distribution of machine tools and automated production lines for companies in all industries.

With proud pasts and strong presents, the industrial leaders that formed us have invested in AddUp because they know the future of manufacturing is digital. They are committed to leading in metal additive manufacturing in the same way that they did building their industrial histories.

Today, AddUp is focused on delivering reliable, repeatable solutions across a variety of industries. Our machines are built for serial production in a digital manufacturing environment. Our customer’s satisfaction is our #1 goal and providing a gold standard of service along their journey is our priority.

Striving for continuous improvement, our R&D teams are regularly optimizing our machines to increase the value they bring for our customers. Understanding that software is at the heart of digital manufacturing, we continue to develop and expand our portfolio from part preparation to simulation, monitoring and production, every link of the AddUp digital chain offers a high level of performance with complete ease of use.

As AddUp looks towards the future, we strive for innovation beyond additive manufacturing as we know it today. Whether it be through fully automated AM workshops or developing metal 3D printers for production in space, our teams are passionate about digital manufacturing and how it can transform our future world.
