Producing thin-walled structures from Inconel via laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) is a intricate endeavor due to Inconel’s unique properties. Renowned for its resistance to high temperatures and corrosion, Inconel poses challenges like warping and cracking in thin-walled components, necessitating precise parameter adjustments. The quest for machined surface finishes directly from printing is crucial for aerospace and heat exchanger applications. Our study delves into laser beam speed, power, and contour order to optimize parameters, achieving micron-thick walls while maintaining machining-like finishes and exploring the limits of single-wall density under our conditions.
