In 2024, we launched the Additive Manufacturing for Injection Molding Project (#2024AMIM) to tackle a challenge we believe the tooling industry can no longer afford to ignore: the slow adoption of 3D printing in mold production.
Sixteen tool and die companies and seventeen technology partners joined forces with us, focusing on seven critical areas: material development, productivity, quality, sustainability, functional design, time savings, and powder handling.
One key success story: Harting’s move to additively manufactured mold cores and cavities. Together with Siemens, we tackled conformal cooling design, first-time-right printing, productivity optimization, post-processing, and in-house machining, all to deliver shorter cycle times and higher part quality.
In this presentation, AddUp, Harting, and Siemens will walk you through the complete roadmap for industrializing additive manufacturing in mold production and what tangible benefits you can expect when making the transition.
